As reported by The Athletic, Atlético Madrid are interested in signing Aston Villa defender Matty Cash as a replacement for Kieran Trippier.
Villa would not consider the possibility of selling him this month if Atlético make an approach. Atlético signed Daniel Wass from Valencia yesterday. The Dane can play at right-back or in midfield.
Los Colchoneros still have Sime Vrsaljko for the position and the versatile Marcos Llorente, who has also played at right-back for Spain.
Sky Sports report that Atlético have made contact with the representatives of Cash. A bid this window has not been ruled out but it’s likely they will pursue Cash in the summer.
