Atlético Madrid injury update ahead of Las Palmas clash: Giménez, Grbic, Reinildo

Atlético Madrid take on Las Palmas in La Liga on Friday night. According to AS, second-choice goalkeeper Ivo Grbic will miss the away trip and will be substituted by Sergio Mestre on the bench.

Memphis Depay, Samuel Lino and Thomas Lemar will also miss the game for Diego Simeone, who is likely to start Pablo Barrios in the middle alongside Koke and Rodrigo de Paul. Saúl could start the game on the bench.

The main doubt centres on the defence. Stefan Savic, Axel Witsel and Mario Hermoso have become the main players in front of Jan Oblak, but José María Giménez returned against Alavés and is in contention to take the Belgian’s place. Defender Reinildo continues his recovery, working with the squad, but remains out for now.

Tuesday’s game against Celtic is a key match for Los Colchoneros’ European aspirations. Rodrigo Riquelme, scorer of the first goal against Alavés is likely to play on the left, with Nahuel Molina on the right.

In attack, the pairing of Antoine Griezmann and Álvaro Morata have 18 goals to their name and will be looking to continue their fine run of form.

Atlético Madrid’s likely XI vs Las Palmas

Diego Simeone’s eleven against Las Palmas could be as follows:

Oblak; Nahuel Molina, Savic, Witsel or Giménez, Hermoso, Riquelme; Koke, Barrios, De Paul; Griezmann, Morata.
