La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have this week been afforded a timely boost on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that Mario Hermoso is back fit and available for selection.
Stopper Hermoso, for his part, was forced to sit out each of Atlético’s last three outings, owing to a muscular issue picked up last month.
The Spanish international – who looks set to depart the Wanda Metropolitano as a free agent this summer – though, was this week spotted back alongside the rest of Diego Simeone’s squad in group training.
And, on Friday evening, Hermoso’s return to matchday duties has been confirmed.
As per a release across the Rojiblancos’ social media platforms, the 28-year-old has been included in the squad of players primed to face off with Girona in a crunch La Liga clash on Saturday afternoon.
Though it is as of yet unclear whether or not Hermoso will be thrown back into a starting role, his comeback could not come at a better time, ahead of next Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final 2nd leg showdown with Borussia Dortmund.
