Two important members of the midfield setup at Athletic Club have emerged as doubts to feature in the club’s next outing.
As much was confirmed in a statement released across the Basque outfit’s social media platforms on Monday.
Ernesto Valverde’s troops are set to mark their return to action this coming Friday.
After slipping to a damaging 3-1 defeat at the hands of Atlético Madrid over the weekend, Athletic will set out in search of an immediate return to winning ways, at the expense of Getafe.
Such endeavours, however, could well come sans the contributions of both Oihan Sancet, and Iñigo Ruiz de Galarreta.
Midfielders Sancet and Ruiz de Galarreta were forced into respective premature departures from proceedings at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday night.
And Athletic have since confirmed that the pair have both picked up ‘minor’ thigh problems, which will force them to train away from the rest of the club’s squad over the days ahead:
‘The players Oihan Sancet and Iñigo Ruiz de Galarreta suffer minor injuries to the semitendinosus muscles in their left legs. Both cases are pending evolution.’
