An update on the fitness and availability of the Athletic Club squad has been provided ahead of their derby match with Real Sociedad this weekend.
As reported by Marca, Nico Williams has returned to training before the derby. The 21-year-old is back with the squad just in time for the clash with La Real.
Ernesto Valverde has been given a huge boost just days before the crucial derby at San Mamés, having all of his players available with the exception of Iñaki Williams, who has been called up by his national team to play in the Africa Cup of Nations.
However, his brother will not miss the match after recovering from a knock. The Spanish international was absent from Wednesday’s training session after discomfort on Sunday, however, he returned to full training on Thursday, meaning he is fully fit and available for the derby.
The electric winger was in great form in the recent Copa del Rey match against Eibar, grabbing two assists. This season the forward has been involved in eight goals, with three goals to his name and five assists.
