Athletic Club’s Iñaki Williams included in Ghana squad for World Cup after Spain cap

Ghana have announced their final 26-man group that will to travel to Qatar for the World Cup this week ahead of Group H meetings with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea. Notably, head coach Otto Addo included 28-year-old Athletic Club striker Iñaki Williams in his squad for the tournament after the player switched allegiances from Spain.

Iñaki’s brother, Nico, was, meanwhile, included in Spain’s party for the tournament, a situation reminiscent of Jérôme Boateng and his brother Kevin-Prince playing for separate nations at previous tournaments, with Germany and Ghana respectively.

So far, Iñaki has had just one cap for Ghana against Brazil in September after being included on Spain’s standby list for EURO 2016 and playing in a friendly for La Roja against Bosnia in May of that year. Here’s the squad in full:
