AS Roma unable to meet Memphis Depay’s demands

AS Roma are not able to meet Memphis Depay’s salary demands, report Marca.

The Dutchman has fallen out of favour at the Nou Camp and has failed establish himself as a regular in Xavi’s starting lineup. In the first half of the season he only made two appearances for Barcelona.

Depay has been linked with a move away from the Catalan coast over the last couple of months and the World Cup was a perfect opportunity for him to showcase his credentials.

However, despite their initial interest, it appears as though AS Roma will not be making a move for Depay this January due to the player’s extortionate salary demands.

This is not the first time the 28-year-old turned down a chance to move to an other club due to financial reasons. In August Juventus opted to sign Arkadiusz Milik instead of the Netherlands international as the Polish striker was the cheaper option.
