Arsenal and Real Valladolid are set to continue negotiations regarding the potential transfer of Iván Fresneda, reports Fabrizio Romano.
The 18-year-old has been linked with a move away from Las Blanquivioletas for quite some time and some of the best clubs in Europe have been showing interest in signing the youngster.
Mikel Arteta wants to use the January transfer window to strengthen his side and bring in reinforcements as Arsenal aim to win their first Premier League title since 2004. As an attacking-minded right-back, Fresneda would be the perfect fit for the style of football that Arteta plays.
According to the Italian journalist, the Gunners and Real Valladolid opened talks regarding Fresneda this week and negotiations are set to continue on Monday. In addition to Arsenal, Newcastle United are also interested in securing the services of the Spaniard.
It is believed that Fresneda would be keen on a potential move to the Premier League.
