Arsenal reach agreement with Real Madrid for Martin Ødegaard

Arsenal and Real Madrid have reached an agreement on a loan deal for Martin Ødegaard until the end of the season, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 22-year-old joins the Premier League side until the end of the season. Arsenal will pay the Norwegian’s salary in full. Head coach Mikel Arteta was believed to be key in the deal being finalised, having spoken directly to the player. Madrid held final talks with Arsenal chiefs on Sunday and successfully agreed on a loan for the remainder of 2020/21.

The transfer to London will be officially unveiled after Ødegaard has completed his medical, which is due to take place on Monday. He becomes their second loanee from Madrid this season along with Spanish midfielder Dani Ceballos.
