According to AS via Portuguese outlet A Bola, Arsenal have made an initial offer of around €7 million to Benfica for 26-year-old Spanish left-back Alejandro Grimaldo.
Mikel Arteta’s side signed Nuno Tavares from the Lisbon club last season for a fee of €8 million and would now like to sign Grimaldo. His contract expires in 2023, which would make the deal cheaper. The Gunners already tried to sign him in 2019 to cover the departure of Nacho Monreal to Real Sociedad.
