Players from several leading Premier League clubs have made their way onto the radar of La Liga giants Atlético Madrid ahead of the summer.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.
The brass at Atlético, it is understood, are already hard at work in their search for reinforcements to Diego Simeone’s squad.
The Rojiblancos have identified several areas of the club’s first-team ranks as being in need of fresh blood to ensure a more fruitful campaign in 2025/26.
One position considered as lacking when it comes to options is in the middle of the park.
And this week, an insight into some of the names on the shortlist of midfield targets drawn up by the board at the Metropolitano has been provided.
As per MD:
‘In the case of the midfield, there are several names on the table: Rodrigo Bentancur, Davide Fratessi, Thomas Partey, Enzo Fernández, Enzo Barrenechea, and Johnny Cardoso.’
It now remains to be seen which of these engine room stars Diego Simeone decides upon as his priority target.
