“We don’t want an Ansu Fati 2.0” – Arda Güler’s injury blow explained by medical expert

Arda Güler’s injury has dealt a blow to Real Madrid’s expectations. While Carlo Ancelotti anticipated his swift return, the Turk’s muscle injury will now sideline him for a minimum of three additional weeks meaning he’ll be absent against Las Palmas, Girona, Napoli, and Osasuna, with his readiness for the post-national team break fixtures under evaluation.

There was huge anticipation surrounding his return, especially within the club, who have marvelled over the ability he displayed during his first training sessions in Madrid. However, a new setback has disrupted plans.

Relevo report that Dr. José González Pérez, a sports medicine expert and former head of Atlético Madrid’s medical services, has discussed the potential causes of the unfortunate injury:

“When he had his knee operation, I said we have to be patient and make a full recovery. We don’t want an Ansu Fati 2.0. I met the best players in the world when they were 18 and many of them didn’t make it,” he says, comparing it to the problems the former Barcelona player, now at Brighton, had.

In more positive news for the club, Los Blancos had Vinícius Jr. return to the bench against Las Palmas on Wednesday evening after a spell on the sidelines.
