Real Madrid youngster Arda Güler has on Saturday evening secured for himself a piece of Blancos history.
As much comes owing to his exploits in the club’s meeting with Rayo Vallecano.
Real are of course fresh off a return to La Liga action, at Vallecas.
The aforementioned Güler, for his part, was afforded his latest starting berth in the matchup, as the Turkish international continues to carve out a more and more prominent role for himself in the Spanish capital.
And though Los Blancos, as a collective, were ultimately forced to make do with a share of the spoils in a pulsating 3-3 stalemate, Güler, again, justified his inclusion.
The 19-year-old managed to lay on the assists for two of his side’s three goals, first teeing up Federico Valverde, before doing likewise for Rodrygo on the far side of the interval.
Contributions to Real Madrid’s eventual point aside, though, Güler’s efforts on Saturday secured for the teen a place in the club’s history books, too.
As revealed by statisticians Opta:
‘At 19 years and 293 days, Arda Güler is the youngest player to provide two assists in a single LaLiga match for Real Madrid in the 21st century.’
