Everything was looking great for young Turkish star Arda Güler at the start of this season. Following an excellent showing for Turkey at the Euros during the summer, it was looking as though his role at Real Madrid was set to earn him more playing time.
Since then, however, Güler hasn’t quite seen the step up in game time he was expecting, with most of his appearances for Los Blancos taking the form of 10/15 minute cameos.
All this has led to plenty of frustration for the 19-year-old, who according to Diario SPORT, is starting to see his future possibly heading elsewhere.
This situation has come to a head after Carlo Ancelotti reportedly accused the youngster of not performing at a high enough intensity in training.
While Güler has put in some solid performances when he has been given minutes, Ancelotti does not think the young midfielder comes back to defend enough, a sacrifice the veteran manager values in all his players.
Reports indicate that despite the youngster having five years remaining on his contract, he could force a transfer or loan request in order to get away from the environment at Real Madrid which is beginning to frustrate him.
