Antonio Rüdiger misses out & Rodrygo gets the nod over Brahim: Real Madrid XI vs Girona

The XI set to be depended upon by Real Madrid for the club’s imminent showdown with Girona has been confirmed ahead of kick-off.

Los Blancos, of course, are set to mark their return to action in short order.

In the knowledge that a victory would see them take a considerable step towards the La Liga title, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops have welcomed the aforementioned Girona to the Santiago Bernabéu, for a top of the table clash.

In the buildup to proceedings, the subject of injury woes has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain’s capital.

This comes amid nothing short of a crisis at the heart of Real’s backline.

With all of David Alaba, Éder Militão and Nacho already ruled out, confirmation was then forthcoming this afternoon that Antonio Rüdiger, too, will be unavailable for selection on Saturday.

Boss Ancelotti, in turn, has been forced into a central defensive pairing of Dani Carvajal, and Aurélien Tchouaméni.

Elsewhere, Andriy Lunin maintains his place in goal, Eduardo Camavinga is handed another start in the middle of the park, and Rodrygo gets the nod over the in-form Brahim Díaz in attack.
