After 11 months out, Ansu Fati marked his Barcelona return with a goal in his side’s 3-0 win over Levante at Camp Nou on Sunday and the club’s new number 10 spoke to Movistar+ after the match.

Ansu Fati on his return to action

“I want to thank the doctors and the physios who have been with me during this process, and the fans, who are incredible. I didn’t imagine a return like this. My family has suffered with me through all of this and I’m very grateful to everyone.

We are Barcelona. We are going for the league, for the Champions League and we will fight for every title.”

On wearing the number 10 shirt

“I’m proud to have been given the chance to wear it after Leo [Messi]. It’s not pressure but I’m very grateful to the club and the captains of the club for this opportunity to wear it.”
