Ansu Fati has contract offer from Barcelona

According to Mundo Deportivo, Jorge Mendes, Ansu Fati’s agent, already has a new contract offer on the table for the Barcelona forward.

The offer was made three weeks ago and Mendes, who is currently travelling to Qatar, will study it before sitting down with the club on his return.

Barça will not be able to offer a long-term contract to Fati. The idea, due to the club’s current economic situation, is to give him a short-term deal that can be reviewed when the situation improves. As Cope have recently revealed, Barça have a salary limit of €97 million, much lower than in recent years.

Fati has a contract at the club until June 2022. Barça signed a unilateral extension clause until 2024, but the validity of this clause is in question as a player under 18 cannot sign a contract of more than two years.
