Another Real Madrid youngster handed senior debut during Sevilla clash

Real Madrid head coach Álvaro Arbeloa afforded a first-team bow to yet another member of the club’s academy setup on Sunday.

This came during Los Blancos’ penultimate La Liga outing of the campaign.

Real were of course back in action a short time ago, making the trip to Andalusia to lock horns with Sevilla.

When all was said and done, the visitors emerged on the right side of a 1-0 result, courtesy of a first-half strike on the part of the in-form Vinícius Jr.

And as alluded to above, en route to as much, an up-and-coming member of the attacking ranks in Spain’s capital was afforded a moment to savour.

Late in proceedings at The Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, Álvaro Leiva was introduced off the bench for Real Madrid.

This marked the 21-year-old’s first-ever senior appearance for the club, a reward for his efforts with Castilla across the length of the campaign.

Leiva, for his part, is a versatile frontman, capable of lining out as a 2nd striker, or on either wing.
