Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has on Sunday picked up a suspension on the international stage.
This comes owing to developments in England’s Nations League meeting with the Republic of Ireland.
Bellingham was for his part afforded a starting berth this evening, as England welcomed Ireland to Wembley for a highly-anticipated clash.
And the 21-year-old went on to play a starring role in his country’s eventual triumph.
En route to an eventual 5-0 romp, Bellingham set the Three Lions on their way, winning a spot-kick before bagging a late pair of assists, too.
As alluded to above, though, on an otherwise positive night’s work for the Real Madrid standout, Bellingham was also dealt a personal blow.
This came late in the first-half, upon the former Borussia Dortmund man being shown a yellow card.
As much means that Bellingham is facing up to a one-game suspension, set to be served in the first leg of England’s Nations League quarter-final tie.
He joins Blancos teammate Eduardo Camavinga in picking up an international ban this week.
