Another Barcelona talent inching towards summer exit

A headline member of the youth setup at La Liga giants Barcelona is inching ever closer to bringing a close to his time with the club.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

After it was over the weekend revealed that winger Dani Rodríguez is primed for a move to Athletic Club, it is now claimed that Marc Casadó could follow him out the exit door in short order.

20-year-old midfielder Casadó is a name which will be familiar to regular viewers of Barcelona.

This comes with the Spaniard having been included in Xavi’s first-team setup on a whole host of occasions over the course of the last two seasons.

An integral figure in Rafa Márquez’s Barca Atlètic, though, Casadó, to date, has managed just a solitary La Liga appearance.

Ahead of the expiration of his contract in the summer, the powers that be at Barcelona are yet to indicate to the youngster that they intend to activate the one-year extension option included in his terms.

With Casadó himself also eager for a more prominent role at senior level, a parting of ways between the parties with a view to next season is therefore beginning to look increasingly likely.

And, should as much indeed come to fruition, the defensive-minded midfielder should not be short on suitors, amid alleged interest in his services on the part of both Granada, and Valencia.
