Barcelona icon Andrés Iniesta has today moved to reveal his delight for current Blaugrana starlet Gavi.
This of course comes after Gavi marked his long-awaited return to the pitch late on Sunday night.
En route to an eventual 5-1 Barcelona drubbing of Sevilla, the 20-year-old was summoned to the sideline by manager Hansi Flick inside the game’s closing ten minutes.
From here, Gavi was handed the captain’s armband by midfield partner Pedri, before stepping foot on the pitch for the first time since all the way back in late-2023.
Messages of support, in turn, have since come flooding in, from across the football landscape.
One of the first to forward a public message of support the way of the Spanish international was Sergio Busquets, who took to Instagram to write:
‘What a joy to see you play again, Gavi’
And, as alluded to above, Busquets has since been joined in as much by another legendary figure at the Camp Nou.
In a post on his own Instagram account, Andrés Iniesta accompanied a photo of Gavi on the pitch on Sunday with the caption:
‘So happy to see you back, Gavi’
