Andrés Iniesta ruled out for four months after surgery

Spanish midfielder Andrés Iniesta faces four months on the sidelines after undergoing an operation to treat a ruptured hamstring, according to the player’s representatives in a statement.

Iniesta injured his right hamstring during Vissel Kobe’s Asian Champions League last 16 win over Shanghai SIPG and flew back to Barcelona to undergo surgery.

The Barcelona legend was treated by top sports surgeon Ramón Cugat, with the operation said to be a success. Iniesta moved to Japanese club Vissel Kobe in 2018 after spending his entire career at Camp Nou.
