Barcelona icon Andrés Iniesta this week pointed towards a pair of somewhat surprising current Blaugrana stars – in Ansu Fati and Marc-André ter Stegen – as players he would sign if afforded the opportunity as a manager.
Iniesta, for his part, is currently in the thick of something of a media tour across Spain.
After making official his decision to call time on a legendary career earlier this week, the one-time midfielder, now 40, has been called in for interviews by a whole host of outlets.
One such sit down took place late on Tuesday, with COPE.
And it was during as much that the question of the current Barca stars whom he would like to have at his disposal as a manger was put to Iniesta.
His first selection came as a predictable one, in the form of engine room starlet Pedri.
As alluded to above, though, the Spaniard’s other two choices were altogether more head-turning, in the form of struggling winger Ansu Fati, and the oft-criticised Marc-André ter Stegen.
