Andrés Iniesta, currently playing for Vissel Kobe, was a guest of Jordi Wild on his podcast ‘The Wild Project’.
The former Barcelona player spoke to Wild about various topics, including a possible return to Camp Nou.
“No. It’s not that I don’t want to, I’d be delighted to, but the moment has passed. It would be impossible to compete with the people that are there,” Iniesta said in quotes picked up by Mundo Deportivo.
The 38-year-old did not, however, rule himself out of returning to work in a different capacity.
“I would like to return to Barça. I would like to learn and work in a coaching role or as a sporting director. I’d like to train in different areas and then we’ll see.
The World Cup winner recently told Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport that he will remain in Japan for a year and will then evaluate his future.
