In an interview that appeared on Marca, Athletic Club midfielder Ander Herrera discussed the side’s objectives and their approach to the rest of the season.
Herrera revealed that everyone at Athletic Club wants European football next season:
“We are very excited about being able to represent the team in Europe next season. We are in a very good position. It’s a dream for everyone and we have to fight for it. The position we are in is not enough; we have to work hard and believe in what we are doing.”
The 33-year-old believes that the best way to reach reach their objectives is to fully prepare for all matches rather than identify key fixtures in the calendar:
“These are very important matches against opponents who will be fighting for Europe. One of our characteristics is that we face the games in the same way, which is the best way to prepare to get the best out of them. It’s a huge mistake to set key matches in a calendar.”
Herrera is really enjoying his return to Athletic Club:
“People take care of themselves and it’s a pleasure to be part of such a professional group with such a clear vision. It’s a pleasure to be part of a team like this.”
