A member of the defensive ranks at Segunda División outfit Almería is all set for a big-money move to Italy, with Atalanta.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Marc Pubill as the player in question.
News surrounding negotiations being kicked into gear between the respective boards at Almería and Atalanta was first forthcoming earlier this evening.
In something of a bolt from the blue, it was revealed that the latter had moved forward with an all-out assault for the right-back, for his part in the midst of a stellar Olympic Games campaign with Spain.
And, evidently, it has not taken at all long for an accord to be found.
As per a report from Fabrizio Romano, Pubill is all but certain to be plying his trade in Bergamo for the 2024/25 campaign.
This comes after Atalanta agreed to fork over a considerable sum, with the potential to reach €20 million, to land the 21-year-old.
Contract talks are now underway between the two parties, after which the gifted young defender will be pencilled in for a medical with Gian Piero Gasperini’s Orobici.
