Almería star Ramazani issues public apology after being hit with 5-game ban

Almería star Largie Ramazani has taken to social media, to issue an apology to the club’s supporters.

As much comes after the attacker found himself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons last weekend.

After being dismissed from Almería’s La Liga meeting with Villarreal owing to a pair of yellow cards, the Belgian waited for referee Ortiz Arias to appear in the tunnel post-match.

And, from here, Ramazani embarked on a foul-mouthed tirade, detailed in the official’s match report (with credit to Marca) as follows:

“Once the match was over and I was inside the locker room tunnel, the local player number 7, Mr. Largie Ramazani, approached me aggressively and with an intimidating attitude, without actually contacting me physically because he was held back by approximately four members of the local team. Once he was separated, he addressed me, shouting the following terms: ‘F**king d**khead!’, ‘F**king c**t!’, ‘F**king c**t!’ ‘F**king idiot!’ (F**king asshole! F**king bastard! F**king idiot!).”

The former Manchester United talent’s actions have since landed him in altogether hot water, with the RFEF having this week sanctioned Ramazani with a hefty five-match ban.

With the dust having now fully settled on the incident, the 23-year-old, in turn, has moved to reveal his take on his costly outburst.

In a post on his official ‘X’ account, Ramazani issued a direct message to the Almería faithful, as follows:

“Dear Rojiblancos,

I acknowledge my mistake in the last game and understand your disappointment. I can handle criticism and hate, but my commitment to the club runs deep. I take responsibility for my actions. I am working to learn from this and become a better player and teammate. I will learn from this and work harder to make it right. Thank you for your support.”
