An update on the future of Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde has been forthcoming this evening.
The subject of defender Balde’s place in Catalunya has of course emerged as a major talking point in the media over recent weeks.
This comes amid something of a drop-off in form on the part of the Spanish international.
After he was dropped to the bench for Barca’s crunch meetings with both FC Porto and Atlético Madrid, surprise speculation began to surface online, pointing towards Balde as having lost the faith of the Blaugrana coaching staff.
In turn, it was even suggested that the 20-year-old could be moved on next summer, in a bid to raise fresh funds for incomings.
As much, however, has today been denied.
As confirmed by journalist Adrián Sánchez, amongst others, full confidence remains in Catalunya, when it comes to Balde’s ability to get things back on track.
The youngster is viewed as the long-term starter on the left of Barca’s backline and, therefore is in line to stay put for many years to come.
