Alberto Moreno deemed fit to play by Villarreal’s medical staff

Alberto Moreno was given the all-clear by Villarreal’s medical staff to play against Austria Wien, report Marca.

On the 5th of March the Spanish international suffered a knee injury during The Yellow Submarine’s match against Osasuna in Pamplona.

Based on the tests carried out by the club’s medical staff, he ruptured a cruciate ligament in his knee, which required him to undergo surgery and kept him out for the last couple of months.

This was not the 30-year-old’s first experience with ligament problems, as he was forced to be left on the sidelines between September 2020 and April 2021 with a similar injury.

It is believed that Moreno will be available to make an appearance tomorrow night for Villarreal against Austria Wien in the third round of the Europa Conference League group stages, with kick-off scheduled at 9pm local time.

The La Liga side are currently leading their group in the competition with six points.
