Alavés ready to take a gamble on Sevilla midfielder

Deportivo Alavés are looking to make improvements to the midfield of their squad for next season, in an effort to improve upon their strong showing this season and perhaps make a push for Europe.

To do this, they are on the hunt for some talent with a midfield pedigree, and where better to look than Europa League powerhouses Sevilla.

The player they have their eyes on is Joan Jordán, who has played almost 200 matches for the club and has won the Europa League twice with them, in 2020 and 2023 respectively.

According to ElDesmarque, Alavés have already held conversations with the 29-year-old, eager to tie him down if he is to leave the Andalusian giants.

It would seem that Alavés are open to the idea of either a loan or permanent deal for the player, however, they acknowledge that it may be difficult to comply with his wage demands.

Sevilla meanwhile have come to terms with the fact that Jordán isn’t a part of their future plans, and will look to offload the player in order to free up his wages and ease financial constraints at the club.
