Alavés join the hunt for Real Sociedad star

A new suitor have positioned themselves in the race for Real Sociedad star Umar Sadiq.

Frontman Sadiq has for his part been hotly tipped for a summer exit from Anoeta.

The 27-year-old is in the midst of something of a hit-and-miss campaign, which has seen him afforded starts in just 12 of Real Sociedad’s La Liga fixtures.

This comes as Sadiq continues in efforts to regain his brilliant best, following an ACL rupture last season.

It has in turn been suggested that the txuri-urdin brass could be open to allowing their record signing to depart on loan this summer.

Getafe, for one, have been credited with an interest in the Nigerian’s services, desperate to add to their attacking options ahead of an imminent outflux of talent.

And, as per Mundo Deportivo, citing Onda Cero, another of the Spanish top-flight’s clubs would also be interested in landing Sadiq over the coming months.

The outfit in question? Alavés.

Set to bid farewell to Atlético Madrid loanee Samu Omorodion this month, El Glorioso have earmarked Sadiq as a leading replacement target.

Manager Luis García is understood to be pushing hard for the move, albeit with it remaining to be seen just what the player himself has in mind for next season.
