Alarming Vinícius Jr. stat surfaces as Yan Diomandé steals the Real Madrid spotlight again in win over Leipzig

A concerning statistic surrounding the recent production of Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. in fixtures on the continent has come to the fore online.

This comes on the same evening that fellow Blancos winger Yan Diomandé continued to build on his own spectacular recent stretch of individual form.

In the midst of a four-match domestic ban, Vinícius was restored to starting duties on Wednesday, as Real Madrid welcomed RB Leipzig to Spain’s capital for a Champions League clash.

En route to an eventual 4-1 Blancos rout, however, the Brazilian again struggled to make any impact of note.

In fact, as since revealed by journalist Alberto Ortega, Vinícius failed to complete a single dribble this evening, making it two Champions League appearances in succession without as much.

And all the while, another attacking talent is quickly establishing himself as a star in the making at the Santiago Bernabéu…

Fresh off a goal and an assist against Sevilla at the weekend, Real Madrid summer signing Yan Diomandé was introduced off the bench during the 2nd-half against Leipzig.

And the Ivorian went on to mark his cameo with another pair of direct goal contributions, including a stunning volleyed strike to round out the game’s scoring in style:
