The powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid are giving consideration to launching an assault for Al-Nassr star Aymeric Laporte.
That’s according to Diario AS, who have on Friday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.
Something of a collective consensus is understood to have emerged at the Santiago Bernabéu, when it comes to Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
This comes in the form of the agreement that reinforcements are needed at the heart of defence.
At present, Real are not considering dipping into the market mid-season, but a shortlist of targets is already being drawn up with a view to 2025/26.
And at the very top of as much, according to AS, is the aforementioned Aymeric Laporte:
‘Aymeric Laporte is in Real Madrid’s sights with a view to a possible signing for next season.’
Florentino Pérez and co. consider the former Manchester City man, owing to his experience of Spanish football, left-footedness and defensive qualities, as the ideal profile to add to Carlo Ancelotti’s options at the back.
A move for his signature in the summer of 2025, as a result, is beginning to look increasingly likely.
