The Telegraaf report that Ajax have made a formal offer to Jordi Cruyff to replace Marc Overmars at the Dutch club.
The son of Ajax legend, Johan, is currently an advisor at FC Barcelona and could be tempted by the director of football role in the Netherlands as his contract with the La Liga side expires this June.
Cruyff is currently part of the Barça technical team, where he works alongside Mateu Alemany, the director of football at Camp Nou.
Overmars recently resigned as the Dutch side’s director of football after the club announced he had sent “a series of inappropriate messages to several female colleagues over an extended period”.
Ajax are considering Cruyff for the role due to his experience in European football and knowledge in the transfer market.
