La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have on Saturday evening been dealt a blow on the personnel front.
This comes owing to developments early in the club’s latest outing.
Atlético are of course currently locked in action, in a La Liga meeting with Celta Vigo at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Amid an ongoing search for what could prove a decisive opener, however, the Rojiblancos have been forced to make do with 10 men.
This comes after midfielder Pablo Barrios was shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge inside the opening ten minutes in Spain’s capital.
Barrios, as a result, is facing up to an incoming suspension.
This comes fresh off Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid also being dealt a heavy blow, after Jude Bellingham was given his marching orders in Los Blancos’ 1-1 draw with Osasuna.
Amid the tightly contested race for the La Liga title, such developments all serve to boost the hopes of a Barcelona outfit who will lock horns with Rayo Vallecano on Monday night.
