Achraf Hakimi: “I would have loved to stay at Real Madrid.”

Speaking after Inter Milan became Serie A champions on Sunday, former Real Madrid right-wing-back Achraf Hakimi discussed his former employers to El Chiringuito.

“Real Madrid was my home,” the 22-year-old said, with his future being discussed amid the difficult financial situation at Inter. “I would’ve loved to stay there and fight for my place… but the club decided otherwise.

“I can’t blame [Zinedine] Zidane or the board. I guess Real Madrid maybe have the right of first refusal for me.”

The Moroccan international has scored seven Serie A goals in his first season at Inter, while providing six assists under Antonio Conte.
