Italian giants AC Milan have identified an oft-forgotten member of the midfield ranks at Real Madrid as a potential summer signing.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Italian sources, who point towards the brass at Milan as having set their sights on Dani Ceballos.
Spain international Ceballos is of course expected to be on the move in the summer.
As much comes amid the former Arsenal man’s understandable struggles for game-time, amongst a star-studded midfield under the watch of Carlo Ancelotti in Madrid.
After putting pen to paper on a new contract just last year, Ceballos is understood to have been left frustrated by the lack of opportunities afforded to him across the season to date.
As a result, the 27-year-old is eager to source a new project, which will see him take on a more central role.
And precisely that, it would appear, could be on offer to Ceballos in Milan.
The Rossoneri are long-term admirers of the talents of the midfield all-rounder, with the excellent relations between the respective boards at San Siro and the Santiago Bernabéu meaning a summer deal could well be facilitated.
La Liga pair Real Betis and Atlético Madrid, though, are both also keeping a close eye on Ceballos’ situation.
