A surprise Barcelona star led both teams in dribbles in Sevilla clash

A surprise member of the defensive ranks at Barcelona managed to complete more dribbles than any other player on the pitch in the club’s most recent outing.

The player in question? Pau Cubarsí.

Barcelona, of course, marked their return to action on Sunday night, welcoming Sevilla to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.

When all was said and done, Hansi Flick’s troops emerged on the right side of a dominant 5-1 result, reestablishing their three-point advantage atop the Spanish top-flight in the process.

The aforementioned Pau Cubarsí, meanwhile, featured from the off in the clash, seeing out the full 90 minutes.

The 17-year-old, as seems to prove the case every week, thoroughly impressed, too, shining not only from a defensive standpoint, but when on the ball, too.

And, as alluded to above, such endeavours on Cubarsí’s part have since given rise to a head-turning statistic.

As revealed by statisticians StatMuse:

‘Pau Cubarsí completed 3/3 take-ons vs Sevilla. No other player on the pitch had more.’
