Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho has turned heads across the Spanish football landscape late on Sunday evening. This comes after the Portuguese tactician produced what he feels is clear evidence of officiating mistakes in the Madrid Derby.
Mourinho’s Real are of course fresh off being condemned to a damaging early-season defeat at the hands of city rivals Atlético.
After Dean Huijsen was given his marching orders early in the 2nd-half, Diego Simeone’s hosts took full advantage, thanking goals from Alejandro Grimaldo and Jonathan David for an eventual 2-1 triumph.
As alluded to above, though, adamant that Atlético also should have finished the derby short of their full complement of players is José Mourinho.
During his post-match press conference at the Metropolitano, ‘Mou’ produced still shots of tackles from both Cristian Romero and Lee Kang-in, which he felt should have culminated in red cards:
The former Chelsea and Inter Milan headmaster went on to add:
“We can save ourselves time because the story of the match is right here. These are two CLEAR red cards. The players gave it their all. Now imagine if it were 9 players against 11.”
