This comes with all eight just a single yellow card away from picking up a suspension.
Ernesto Valverde’s troops are set to mark their return to action this coming Friday, in a league meeting with Granada.
After suffering a setback by way of a 1-1 draw with 10-man Villarreal over the weekend, Athletic will head into proceedings aware that nothing but a victory will suffice, amid their ongoing pursuit of a top-4 berth.
And yet, as alluded to above, in their efforts towards as much, a whole host of the Basque outfit’s stars will be required to watch their step.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, Nico Williams, Álex Berenguer, Dani García, Óscar De Marcos, Raúl García and Iñigo Lekue were over the weekend joined by Iñaki Williams and Yuri Berchiche on yellow card alert.
This means that, should any of these eight pick up another caution against Granada, they will be forced to sit out the club’s ensuing outing.
And as much would mark a heavy blow, with the Lehoiak primed to make the trip to Atlético Madrid, for a crunch clash in the battle for European football in La Liga.
