Barcelona’s meeting with Athletic Club on Sunday could prove to be the final one in the respective Blaugrana careers of a number of players.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have this afternoon provided an insight into the situation.
Barcelona are of course primed to return to action later this evening, when they make the trip to the Basque Country, for a La Liga clash with former manager Ernesto Valverde’s Athletic Club.
The matchup marks the final one of what has been a hugely successful season for the Blaugrana, with a domestic treble to their names.
And yet, as alluded to above, today’s outing could prove to be an altogether bittersweet one for a whole host of members of Hansi Flick’s squad.
For a whole variety of reasons, ranging from a lack of game-time to poor form and potential retirement, as many as six Barca stars could play their final game for the club at San Mamés.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards the following group of players as those in question:
Iñaki Peña, Wojciech Szczęsny, Ronald Araújo, Pablo Torre, Pau Víctor, and Ansu Fati
