5 Real Madrid stars to begin pre-season training on Monday

A quintet of first-team stars at La Liga giants Real Madrid are expected in Spain’s capital early next week, to kickstart their respective pre-season activities.

The Blancos players in question? Aurélien Tchouaméni, Marc Cucurella, Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappé, and Ibrahima Konaté.

The bulk of Real Madrid’s star-studded ranks have of course long returned to base at Valdebebas with a view to the new campaign. Under the watch of new head coach José Mourinho, the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Arda Güler, Federico Valverde and Vinícius Jr. have reunited to ramp up fitness levels for the weeks and months ahead.

Five players, though, have until today remained absent. Owing to their respective journeys to the semi-finals of the World Cup, the aforementioned Tchouaméni, Bellingham, Mbappé, Cucurella and Konaté have not yet been required to report to Madrid.

In the case of the latter pair, in fact, following their summer transfers, they have not yet trained at Valdebebas even once.

But as alluded to above, this situation is set to change over the days ahead. As per a report from Blancos insider Melchor Ruiz of Cope:

‘On Monday, Mourinho expects to have the 5 remaining World Cup players who are missing.’
