A 3rd ACL blow of the La Liga weekend has on Sunday been confirmed.
The subject of serious knee injuries has of course dominated the headlines across Spain over the last 24 hours.
This comes, first, after Éder Militão was stretchered out of Real Madrid’s 4-0 drubbing of Osasuna, with what was later announced as his 2nd ACL tear in the space of just over a year.
This was followed by a similar injury being confirmed for Villarreal winger Ilias Akhomach, suffered late in the first-half of the club’s 3-0 win over Deportivo Alavés.
And, as alluded to above, on Sunday afternoon, a 3rd ACL tear in the space of just 24 hours has been made official, too.
As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of Leganés, defender Enric Franquesa ‘has a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee’, picked up against Sevilla on Saturday night:
‘Our player Enric Franquesa has a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee after the tests carried out today. Our full-back suffered this injury during the match against Sevilla FC this Saturday at the Estadio Municipal Butarque, in which he had to be substituted.’
