3️⃣ things ahead of Barcelona vs Girona

Barcelona take on Girona in La Liga on Monday night and can go 15 points clear at the top of the table with a victory.

1) Real Madrid’s 3-2 defeat to Villarreal on Saturday gives Barça the chance to move one step closer to clinching the La Liga title. With 11 league games remaining for the Blaugrana, they have 71 points going into the clash with Girona.

2) Marc-André ter Stegen will be looking to make it 21 clean sheets in La Liga tonight. The German goalkeeper is on course to break goalkeeping records in La Liga, as with just nine goals conceded in 27 games, he is within reach of beating the records set by Deportivo La Coruña goalkeeper Francisco Liaño and Atlético Madrid’s Jan Oblak, who have conceded the fewest goals in a La Liga season on record (18).

3) Girona recently won their derby against Espanyol and with survival being key this season, their fans will be satisfied with how the campaign has gone under Míchel. They currently sit 11th in the league table. As a coach, Míchel has lost every game he has played against Barça – two with Rayo Vallecano, one with Huesca and one with Girona. He will be hoping that changes at Camp Nou.
