2 leading Barcelona stars singled out for heavy criticism after Las Palmas defeat

Two headline members of the first-team ranks at Barcelona have on Saturday been targeted in ruthless fashion.

This comes owing to their respective performances in the Blaugrana’s latest outing.

Hansi Flick’s troops marked their return to action a short time ago, welcoming lowly Las Palmas to Catalunya’s capital with sights on a first win in three in La Liga.

When all was said and done, however, Barca’s woes on the domestic front only continued to mount.

As much came as a solitary strike on the part of Raphinha proved itself to be little more than a consolation, en route to a 2-1 defeat.

Over the course of the 90 minutes, a number of the hosts’ stars struggled badly, at both ends of the pitch.

As alluded to above, though, post-match, two players in particular have been singled out for more widespread condemnation than any others, on the part of fans and the media alike.

The pair in question? Jules Koundé, and Robert Lewandowski.

Both considered absolutely pivotal figures in Barcelona’s success across the season to date, stopper Koundé and frontman Lewandowski endured outings to forget against Las Palmas.

The former looked out of sorts in and out of possession alike for the 2nd outing in succession, whilst Lewandowski’s touch was badly off, culminating in a number of wasted chances in front of goal.

Both will now need to quickly dust themselves down, ahead of an upcoming La Liga clash with RCD Mallorca on Tuesday night.
