2 La Liga clubs leading race amid confirmation ‘Ansu Fati will not return to Barcelona’

A fresh insight into the future of on-loan Barcelona youngster Ansu Fati has come to the fore on Sunday.

Ansu, for his part, of course departed Catalunya for the Premier League last summer.

After being deemed surplus to requirements by parent club Barca, the wide-man was snapped up by Brighton & Hove Albion, amid hopes on the part of club and player alike of Ansu rediscovering his best on England’s south coast.

Owing to a combination of injury woes and a lack of production in the final third, however, as much has since failed to come to fruition.

In fact, across Brighton’s 30 Premier League outings to date, the 21-year-old has been afforded starts in just three.

The Seagulls, as a result, are viewed as altogether unlikely to seek out either a renewed loan, or permanent move for Ansu in the summer.

And the attacker, it would appear, will not be returning to base in Catalunya, either.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘Ansu Fati will not return to FC Barcelona this coming summer’.

So, where could Ansu end up for the 2024/25 campaign?

It is added that, in Spain, two options stand out above all others. The clubs in question come in the form of La Liga pair Valencia, and Sevilla.

The latter also expressed a keen interest in landing Ansu last summer, ready to reignite their pursuit over the months ahead.

In England, the Wolverhampton Wanderers track also remains alive, though it is noted that both Ansu and his representatives would prioritise a return to Spain.
