Athletic Club head coach Ernesto Valverde has on Friday provided an update on the fitness situation in his squad.
This comes with a view to Athletic’s post-international break return to action, against Espanyol on Saturday afternoon.
The headline news comes in the form of confirmation that Nico Williams will be available to feature from the off in the Basque Country, having recovered from the ankle injury which kept him out of international duty with Spain over the last week.
Also back fit is defender Yeray Álvarez, who has not taken to the pitch since all the way back in late-August, owing to a muscular issue.
Turning attentions towards those set to miss out on Saturday, and Ernesto Valverde will not be able to depend on midfielder Oihan Sancet.
En route to netting his 4th goal of what has been an impressive start to the campaign against Girona last time out, Sancet picked up a thigh injury, which he is yet to recover from.
And also absent at San Mamés will be Aitor Paredes, suspended owing to his red card in the club’s final fixture leading into the international break.
