14 absences – Barca Atlètic’s weekend fixture postponed

The next fixture pencilled in for Barcelona’s reserve team outfit has on Wednesday been postponed.

As much was announced across the website and social media platforms of Barca Atlètic a short time ago, and comes owing to a lack of options at the disposal of Albert Sánchez and his coaching staff.

The statement details:

‘The Barça Atlètic – Real Sociedad B match of matchday 8 of group 1 of the Primera Federación, scheduled for this Saturday, October 12 at the Johan Cruyff Stadium, has been postponed. The call-ups of the lower national teams, in a week of break in the First Division competitions, and the injuries accumulated by the Barça reserve team have left the team with less than 11 available players, so the match has been postponed.’

For reference, 14 players considered as either regulars or potential contributors for Barca Atlètic were afforded call-ups by their respective nations for the October international break.

At U19 level, all of Pau Prim, Héctor Fort, Andrés Cuenca, Guillermo Fernández and Juan Hernández have been given the nod by Spain, whilst Landry Farré, Xavi Espart, Eder Aller, Quim Junyent and Toni Fernández have linked up with La Rojita’s U18s.

In addition, Noah Darvich is in the German U19 panel, Áron Yaakobishvili in Hungary’s, and Pedro Soma with the USA’s U21 squad.
