Real Madrid starlet Arda Güler enjoyed a productive cameo as a substitute on the international stage on Friday night.
Midfielder Güler, for his part, was forced to make do with a spot on the bench, upon Turkey making the trip to the Puskás Arena, for a friendly meeting with Hungary.
En route to an eventual 1-0 defeat for his side, though, the 19-year-old, who has impressed in limited minutes off the bench at club level of late, was introduced to the fray by boss Vincenzo Montella.
And though he could not quite conjure up the moment of magic required to drag his country back on level terms, Güler, from an individual standpoint, impressed once more.
In 29 minutes of action in Budapest, the former Fenerbahçe talent racked up 27 touches, 13 passes, seven crosses, and completed his only dribbling attempt.
It was Güler’s exploits out of possession which proved more noteworthy, though, with the midfielder, not exactly known for his defensive qualities, having won four of his five ground duels, as well as both of his two aerial duels.
He also managed a single clearance, and won a trio of free-kicks for Turkey.
